What we consume within our body has a direct effect on the way it will operate. If all you eat are cheese-burgers and fries then you are going to feel sluggish and tired, but if you substitute that with foods rich in protein such as turkey and lean red meat then you are going to have more energy and feel better.
We are inundated these days with new foods that promise you to get fir, clear your skin of blemishes and build muscle. The question is how do you get to the bottom of all this information? Well to start off you need to get your brain to work more efficiently and there are some great super foods to help you do just that.
- Kale. This is a lovely leafy green salad that is in season late in the year. Experts have done studies which show that eating just three portions of kale per day can slow down the brain's mental decline by up to a massive forty percent. You can stir-fry it with some chilli and garlic with some chicken, and serve with rice.
- Almonds. Almonds are great because they contain phenylalanines which cross the barrier between the brain and your blood cells, which naturally no other food can do in your body. Almonds also stimulate the brain by generating dopamine and adrenaline which are great for boosting the neurotransmitters in your body which in turn make you feel good. As well as finding almonds in numerous cakes and of course marzipan, but you can also try them sprinkled over steamed broccoli or with your sprouts at your Christmas dinner.
- Eggs. Eggs are not only a great source of protein but they are also rich in choline which is part of the two molecules which are responsible for your brain function and your health. Experts now believe that a diet rich in choline will increase the brain function in young children and sufferers of Alzheimer's disease. You can have eggs in a variety of different ways; Poached, fried, scrambled or boiled.
By incorporating more foods which are good for your brain's function, you are giving yourself the best chance to clear that fuzzy head of yours. Many people do not take much stock in the so called super foods, but thee is evidence that proves their worth not only to your health but the longevity of your brain functioning as well.
